Chapter 12.3 - August 2022 – Of snobs and bookworms...

A typical morning in the Motorsen household. Ranveig reminiscing by watching a picture of Oliver Freddy as a toddler and the romance channel blaring from all tv's in the house...

..before she runs off to her job in the journalism career. She goes by taxi and leaves her car behind in case Oliver Freddy would need it. Everything for her beloved son...

Oliver Freddy wants to work out, so he borrows his moms pick up truck to go to the gym downtown, where he puts on his finest clothing to pump iron alongside Kathrine Langerak and Pauline Wan.

--

Robert Bråge wants to learn writing, so he bikes off to his moms workplace for a course, and upon completion he immediately gets a wish to write a novel. That's very ambitious for a twelve year old kid!

But he also wants to go for a swim, so heads off to the beach.

Robert Bråge loves the outdoors, just like his father, Gaute.

He is not swimming alone, as Emma Hatch follows him into the water and swims alongside him for a while.

Oliver Freddy has finished his workout, and is now all pumped and ready. It is time to go back for the third semester at university. He calls up his girlfriend Inge and she meets him outside the gym where they drive home to his house to say goodbye and hop into the car that will take them to university.

Ranveig comes out to bid them farewell, but Inge is the one getting the most emotional this time around. She loves her hometown of Sunset Valley, and is always a little sad everytime she has to leave...

Ranveig stands still thinking about her son, as she watches the car drive off. She should be used to it by now, but a mothers heart always belongs with her children, no matter what.

Before she finally gets up on a stone to wave at them from a distance..

Bye bye, Oliver Freddy and Inge... your summer holiday is over now, see you again at University. ;)

Oliver Freddy and Inges journey continues here: Chapter 3.1 - August 2022 - We're not gonna be friends.. (Lake Onebega)
------

Once inside she walks up to her bedroom upstairs to watch the childrens channel on tv, but kids shows these days.. they aren't what they once used to be....

Ranveig:
Boo! What is this crap?

So she goes downstairs again, because she wants to upgrade the dishwasher to make a little less noise... and as she turns off the tv, of course, it breaks too, so Ranveig gets to spend some time inside increasing her handiness skill...

Ranveig wants to fix things herself, and doesn't want a repair person from outside snooping around her house...

Margrethe, the teenage friend of Kristina, has also gone swimming, and Robert Bråge has gone really far out now, almost by the buoy.. be careful with that surf boy.. I don't have the Island Paradise EP, so the town council can't employ life guards...

Ranveig gets an invitation to a party over at Xander Clavell's house, but it just makes her look grumpy, so I guess today is stay at home day for Ranveig.. "These parties all the time, urghh, sometimes I just need my own company..."

Over at Ingrids house the expansion of her bathroom has come a long way, and is almost finished. All that's left is wood panelling on the outside and wallpaper and floor tiles on the inside, and then its just to move the counters, the sink etc. and it will be done. :P

Ingrid has also bought a new bookshelf for her home. She is like many others in her family, a bookworm, a trait she could have gotten from either side of the family, because both her grandfather on her fathers side and her grandmother on her mothers side has the trait...

After finishing her dinner Ingrid wants to talk to her uncle Knut, so she goes over to him and her biological aunt Helenes house to pay them a visit. Helene is the sister of Kathrine, Ingrids mother, and Knut is Ranveigs brother. It's a small little happy town where everyone knows everyone... :P

As she heads over there, she drives past another construction site where something else is being built. Something that the town of Sunset Valley has been lacking for many years now, but finally the town council has decided to have one built. Oh.. what could this be? :P

No, I'm sorry, its not a high rise... that won't happen in this small town... it's an important public building in case of emergency...

Ingrid rings the doorbell of their house, but it seems her uncle wasn't home, only Helene and their toddler son Anton.

Ingrid walks upstairs to practice chess while waiting for her uncle, but Helene follows her upstairs to talk about.. you guessed it, books..

Helene is an author of primarily childrens books, and used to work at the spa in town, but their world has expanded since last I had this is my active household, and now it seems she has switched to the painters career.

Ingrid walks into her aunts writing den to read a book about pregnancy (interesting choice...), but doesn't even get to open the first page before her aunt follows her to spread some gossip.

The writing den wasn't built for talking, its a very small room, so they walk into the bedroom of Helenes oldest son, Bjørn-Yngve to share the gossip and brag about their skills and belongings, like the snobs that they are.. :P

Ingrid gets a phone call from her father, Jonathan. He asks her how she is doing in her new house, and if she needs more money.. but so far she is doing just fine, she stil haven't spent all of the 16500 simoleons they gave her..

Finally her uncle Knut is home, and he walks upstairs to ask her how her day has been, and her wish to talk to him gets fulfilled.

Helene walks upstairs again to gossip more with her niece, before Ingrid walks downstairs and thinks about going home. Helene has picked up Anton to put him to bed, and it is getting late.

Bjørn-Yngve has also made it home, and Ingrid sits by him in the couch, but he is busy reading "Murder in Pleasantville".

With Anton now asleep in his crib, her aunt comes downstairs again and Ingrid praises a book she just read, and they both discover that they share the bookworm trait, and now Ingrid wants to become best friends with her aunt. :P

They discuss more books and politics for a while, before Ingrid thinks its getting late and heads back home, but not without making a snide remark about her aunts intelligence on the way out!

Ah, you're so sweet and lovely. ;) Safe trip home and good night...:P

"Bonus" video. Another old video I made that wasn't originally made to be shared with anyone... I have estimated this to be around 2005-2007/8 in the story timeline. In this video Oliver Freddy and Ingrid are toddlers and Helene proposes to Knut...
