For this chapter I'll be going a little up the road to the Motor-Notesen household, because there is a toddler who will have his birthday shortly after New Years and I have to make sure he gets a proper childhood... This also gives us an opportunity to see how Lise Veronica is doing, following the dramatic incident at Morten's birthday party just last month..
This night she was in bed, dreaming
about wedding cakes.. That's gonna be far into the future, who she's
going to marry or even if she is going to marry. There is absolutely
no guarantee that her current relationship with Kristina is going to
last that long, seeing as how they're still only at the start of
their teenage life stage and also that it appears to have been on a
bit of a shaky ground recently...
He is ready for it, so there shouldn't be an issue. He has already learnt what he needs to learn and is ready to have his birthday when that time comes.. Mission already accomplished. ;)
Something looked like it was bothering Lise Veronica when she woke up.. Maybe she shouldn't have played that trick on Kristina and leave the party like that.. It wasn't her fault that Bjørn-Yngve tried to kiss her, and he probably didn't mean much about it, because she later learned that it's just what he does.. He's so impulsive and weird, one of these days someone is probably gonna slap him over the face if he doesn't stop...
Lise Veronica wasn't feeling very hungry this morning. While
everyone else had their breakfast, she instead went to play some
video games before going to school..
She wasn't excactly looking forward to it, but she had to go.. She hadn't really spoken properly to Kristina since Mortens birthday, and when she had tried to message her she got no reply.. This left her confused. Why didn't she want to talk? Were they breaking up?
She wanted to tell her she was sorry, but.. how..? Why couldn't
things just be the way they used to be.. How she hoped to be met with
a water balloon hitting the back of her head followed by Kristinas
laughter and giggle as soon as she stepped of the bus.... but that
probably wasn't going to happen... It had been to long, it felt like
an eternity.. maybe they already had broke up and she didn't know
it..?
So he started playing.. Thomas has spotted Lucie in the distance
and wants to walk over to her, but didn't want to walk to far away
from his dad and uh, some stairs were in the way..
..but atleast him wanting to walk over to her let me know she was
there. Looks like she had gone to the park with her ex-husband, who
is now currently talking to his ex-girlfriend Ine Melhus. They were
together for a short while after his and Lucies divorce, until he
dumped her because all she did was play with the kids toys...
Lucie then turns around to give him flowers, a part of her probably still remembers them being married. Asgeir happily accepts them, however, I don't really think he's interested in going back and getting remarried... Ine smiles at them, but it's pretty clear she's not to happy about this as she turns and walks away..
--------
Ivar is still playing guitar, and eventually fulfills his wish of
playing in front of a big enough crowd.. Thomas doesn't look like
he's liking it, though, so he quits to look after his boy..
However, there seems to be something on Sofies mind, because mom's kind words doesn't seem to help at all.. To little, to late.. Sofie never felt she has gotten a proper apology from her mom for what happened.. A simple heartfelt sorry could have come a long way..
Though it's many years ago, she was just a toddler still using diapers, but she still remembers it.. Her parents, they were what held her world together... until they destroyed everything..
Sofie is seen slowly walking away from her mom with her head hanging low, while Ivar goes to pick up Thomas to take him back home. His shift at the theatre begins soon, and he can't leave Thomas alone in the park...It's still a few more hours until Monicas shift over at the
Landgraab research facility ends, so a babysitter has to be called to
watch over him until she gets back home.
Eventually both Monica and Lise Veronica return to the house and the babysitter can be dismissed.
Lise Veronica is more excited to come home and see the kitten, tiny little Pelsdott,
then she is to see her mom and her brother. Of course she is, the
kitten is much more adorable.. ;)
..but mom can be useful sometimes too. Monica has noticed lately that something has been bothering her daughter, and she has questioned why Kristina hasn't come over to visit as often as she used to...
Since Kristina, for whatever reason, doesn't want to communicate
with Lise Veronica, Monica suggests that she will instead make the
call and invite her over. Lise Veronica isn't sure if she likes this
idea at first.. How embarassing wouldn't it be to have mom
make the call to invite her girlfriend over... but then again, she
didn't see any other good options, and she didn't want to just.. show
up at her house and risk that embarassment too.. so, she agreed to
let mom make the call..
And here I was, expecting this to turn out well.. Mom calling Kristina, Kristina comes over, they talk, square it up and everyone is friends, but.. nope... because..
This was the response...
"Sorry, I'm to busy to talk right now. Try to call me back in one day."
Now, Kristina is a girl with many irons in the fire which basically means that she knows how to keep herself busy, and doesn't need to come up with an excuse. She wasn't lying on the phone, because first she had to spend her time on her after school activity, and then she had to go work her shift at the grocery store, so obviously no time to talk, no time to visit, maybe tomorrow..
So after watching tv with mom for a while (where Lise Veronica had to slip in during a conversation how much she really liked horses...) and finishing her homework, she decides to call and invite her best friend Margrethe over for a visit instead, and is happy to hear that atleast Margrethe has time for her..This makes her want to ask Margrethe to sleep over, so she quickly
hurries up to her room to take a sleeping bag out of the drawer and
place it on the floor, just in case.. before she goes back down again
to watch tv while waiting...
..and then someone rings the doorbell, could it be that Kristina came after all!?
Well, no, that would be to much wishful thinking..The one ringing the doorbell was of course Margrethe. Since Margrethe is Lise Veronicas best friend she is comfortable talking about almost everything with her, and of course she has already talked to her about what happened at Mortens party, but she still goes over it once more... "Can you believe she asked him to watch the stars, right in front of me?"
Margrethe has no problem believing what Lise Veronica says, and
her suggestion is to just wait the whole thing out and Kristina will
eventually come back.. before their conversation turns into talking
about shooting stars in the sky, the moon and the sun and other such
celestial bodies, which I suppose are common everyday topics for
young teenage girls...
Of course Margrethe is as much as two
years older than Lise Veronica at 15 years old, and is as such
already much more experienced in life and in romance and all those
things.. well, not really, because as far as I know Margrethe has
never had a boyfriend or girlfriend, but Lise Veronica trusts her and
has someone to talk to and that's the most important thing here..
At the end of their conversation they give each other a friendly hug and learn that they both share the good trait, strengthening a bond of friendship that is already strong. I didn't catch the hug, because I was inside watching Ivar, who had just returned home from work, get a party invitation from Amena.
He's excited about the invitation, but it was a false one, because when he goes there Amenas house is strangely quiet and all the lights are off..
..because Amena has gone to the library with George. Or maybe it
was George that went to the library with Amena...
The library is Georges favorite place in town. So many books to get lost in...
He really, really loves the library, and when I say that,
I mean it...
Amena however might be more interested in
investigating the strange odour in the back of the library that seems
to come from that area behind the computer desk between the magazine
rack and that weird couch... not to mention the gigantic pair of
women's underpants in the childrens fiction section that were found
just last week..
Anyway, doesn't look like there's gonna be a party at Amenas house, so Ivar decides to just spend the night at home..
Margrethe and Lise Veronica is having a good time playing video games, and after spending some time weeding the plants in her garden Monica joins them playing. Lise Veronica has already asked if Margrethe wanted to sleep over, and that was no problem. She would be more than happy to spend the night over at their house, no problem! ;)It's getting late and it's time to eat supper, so the girls sit
down and eat some leftovers from a pumpkin pie that Ivar made for
himself earlier in the day. Margrethe thinks hard and tries to give
Lise Veronica some more advice about love and romance, but none of it
was any good...
Which reminds me, I want to see if anyone is home over at Kristinas parents house now, and that's when I notice that I have missed a birthday, as Kristinas younger sister Emmy is now a toddler.. I had forgotten that her birthday was in september, and somehow that went by without notice.. my bad.. :P
..and then I find Kristina somehow trying to play around in her treehouse I suppose, not realizing that she might be just a little to tall now to do it comfortably, bumping her head into it's ceiling.. or through the ceiling rather.. You can't go back and be a child again, even if you should want to, you're a teenager now.. don't you know? :P
Well, oddities aside.. after the girls have done eating, Lise Veronica wants to make use of the stereo in her room so she goes upstairs to turn it on and calls for Margrethe to come up, because she wants to dance.
There's just one problem, because for some reason her father has
decided to lie down on her bed to read a book..
"Go read your stupid books elsewhere! This is MY room!"
That's a little to much for Margrethe, so she leaves the room
again to go downstairs.. Parents can be dumb sometimes, but she would never yell at her father like that...
..but Margrethe doesn't make it to far, as she is stopped by Lise Veronica who follows her out there to talk about her favourite colour..
A little mundane conversation, so Margrethe gets tired and wants to find the sleeping bag. Lise Veronica for some reason decides she actually wants to help out around the house and begins collecting dirty laundry...
..well, no, she had a plan with it of course, because she only
picks up her dirty clothes to go inside her parents bedroom and drop
it there where her father has gone to sleep.. "That's what you
get for reading books in my bed....". Oh, she definately finds
this very entertaining, I see she hasn't really changed one bit..
;)
..but she is nice to her little brother though, as she makes sure
to tuck him in before going back downstairs to read a book
herself..
Unlike Margrethe, she has no plans of going to bed..
But Monica is also there and says it's bedtime now for the little girls. She rolls her eyes at her mom calling her a 'little girl', but still complies and walks the long way back upstairs to find her bed..."Why did they put my room on the top floor? If only mom and dad could install an elevator.."
Now do what your mother says and go to sleep, young lady. See you tomorrow, maybe your girlfriend will be more talkative then.. good night. ;)
